...yesterday I smacked my right elbow into the boat while I was doing a sharp shoulder-cut, surfing a river wave. It was extremely painful, followed by a near paralysis of the lower arm. Today, two of my fingers and half the palm of my hand still have no sensations in them. It will likely sabotage my preparations for a wildwater race that I've been training for.

Such elbow hits occurred before but, the pain and the effects were less and passed in minutes. Wonder how long before I regain my nerve operations in my hand, this time?

Does anyone have recommendations for a light weight and well-fitting elbow pads?
