I had a run in a few years ago while winter backpacking. Long story short the club did not belong out there with the gear they had or should i say didn't have. All turned out fine but if it were my kid i wouldn't want him out there learning from those people. when i was a kid the scouts i was around were much more prepaired when we went to the backcountry.
