when some good rains come you are looking for a few smokies runs(Big Creek, West Prong, Middle Prong) they are continuous, fast creeks. some good creeky river running can be found on The Watauga with good water, maybe 500+. and The infamous Linville gorge like 2.3 and a little up from there.

as far as what you are talking about(payettes) there is not a lot on offer round here. Creeking is the name of the game so if you want big rivers we will need some of that rain. the few bigger drainages we have can handle thousands of cfs so if we get slammed look to the French Broad, Nolichucky, and Pigeon. but there are many other smaller rivers and larger creeks that could offer a good big water day were they to get drenched.

I hope you get a chance to experience some more of the awesome places that are around here. But of course, there is always a badass class V creek to hit when it is dry like this. If the Green is the only thing running then go there and explore every eddy. or go hike into some of the other Runs you want to try.

Someone once said only boring people get bored.
