A Celebration of Whitewater Recreation in Honor of American Veterans:
This Memorial Day weekend, kick off the summer with a whitewater event that honors our nationâs veterans. At Adventure Sport Center International (ASCI) in Deep Creek/McHenry Maryland, our safe, man-made whitewater course is adjustable from a class 1-2 up to class 3-4. So itâs a great place for beginners and advanced paddlers alike. Enjoy food, beer, vendors, boat demos, free clinics and other ASCI amenities!

This event benefits Team River Runner. TRRâs programs promote health and healing for wounded warriors. Canoe and Kayak clubs are invited to compete in our Kayak Club Cup competion. Read on for more details.
The Kayak Club Cup
Bring out your best four boaters to compete in our Rescue Rodeo and Mass Start Downriver Relay on the ASCI course. The overall winner of the events will take home the Kayak Club Cup Trophy - and bragging rights for the next year. All clubs are welcome at this good-natured event.
The KCC will feature the following events:
Rescue Rodeo: This event is basically a timed rescue. One of your four team members will swim. The other three must resucue the paddler and their equipment before reaching a certain point in the course. The team with the best time wins! Each team can have one individual out of the boat to start at their decision.

Team Relay : This is a mass start race comprise of four person teams. The first paddler t person will start at top and race past feature B, tag team mate who will then paddle to the end and run back up to starting pond and tag person 3. Person 3 will paddle to feature B , tag person 4 who will then sprint to the finish line after feature D.

Combined tiems of the Rescue Rodeo and the Team Relay will determine the winner of the Kayak Club Cup! The cup will be etched with the winning teamâs club name and team members.
Each team must have four members. Cost to compete is $25 per boater ($100 per team)

Friday:

- Course open 4 - 8
- Team River Runner Welcome Dinner : Barbecue dinner open to public $10 per person (benefits Team River Runner)
- Upper Yough releases during the day 10am - 1

Saturday

- Upper Yough Release 10am - 1
- Free Instructional clinics included in entry fee
- Boat demos
- Music/Food/Beer/Gear Vendors

10:30 am - opening ceremony & veterans tribute
11:00 am - Team River Runner Demonstration
11:30 am - Rafting demo
12:00 - Ducky demo
12:30 - Swift Water Rescue demo
1:00 - River Boarding Demo / Mattress Surfing
1:30 - Veterans Race ( sign up to race with the veterans in a veteran guided raft. 10$ all proceeds go to team River Runner ) in a mass start raft race
2:00 - WW Canoeing Demo
2:30 - Wildwater Racing Demo
3:00 - Olympic Slalom Demo
4:00 - Freestyle Kayak Demo
5:00 - Closing Ceremony
