I'm not saying they never come out of the mould wrong, but there is a lot of shipping that boats go through to get from the UK to your local kayak shop, and they are wrapped up tight the whole time.  Something might have fallen over on it in the back of the truck from PyranhaUS to your shop and crushed it.
