I paddle the Chronic and have paddled the Orbit Fish. I paddles Sec IV. Noli. Cheoah and other Class III/IV runs. I prefer the Chronic over the OF even with the added volume. I just never felt confident in the OF. I mainly downriver with the Chronic and I really like how predictable it is. It is Edgey but not as bad as the OF. While paddling the boat I am very aware of my edges. It reminds me of snowboarding. It carves into eddies effortlessly and hold its lines well for a boat its size. You will adjust to the edges and it wont be squirty until you want it to be. The Chronic is squirty but that is the beauty of it. On eddy lines the boat is just PURE. Bow/Stern stall are effortless. Hang out on end then drop the bow or stern for a couple of wheels then back to stern station for a while then throw some more ends. It is my plastic squirt boat minus the downtime. On waves (river and Surf) it is great. Holes well, it is awesome. I have paddled a lot of boats and the Chronic just fits me and my style of paddling at this point. Is the outfitting the best? It is OK but I'm from old school and I'm use to paddling home outfitted boats that were hit or miss until everyting was sanded down perfectly. My plastic has held up well. I have had mine for three years. I think you can get one fairly inexpensive I'd make sure it has the newest outfitting.
