I recently had the opportunity to paddle Prijon's final prototype of their new creeker the Embudo, and what they've got is a quality boat.

Prijon has in the past been tagged with a reputation for excellent plastic and conservative engineering, which seems to have been a double-edged sword- Prijon boats are renowned for being bomber, but their designs have reflected a staid determination not to go along with the latest fad, which to some buyers might not be a strong selling point... but the Embudo belongs firmly in the front row of current design offerings, if not out front all by itself.

"Designed on steep technical creeks of the central Rockies. The Embudo launches into the scene as the stiffest, most innovative creek boat available. The futuristic hull design has a release edge and rounded hull that skips up the surface or porpoises and provides soft landings after big drops. Comes equipped with seat mounted gear loops, molded in grabloops and broach loops for the serious creek boater."

This Top will hit the market in February of this year and will be featured in the spring 2002 catalog.
