Lunch Video Magazine (LVM) and Endless River Adventures (ERA) team up to promote the Outdoor Program Push.
BRYSON CITY, NC For the past seven years, Endless River Adventures has donated their fleet of Wave Sport demo boats, adventure travel videos and their own kayak instructors to a spring road trip program designed to help support college and university outdoor programs - the Outdoor Program Push. This year, their program will be enhanced with the help of Lunch Video Magazine (LVM). "Outdoor programs always find themselves competing against the more-traditional sports funded at the college/university level. The competition is not only for monies from the administration, but support from the administration - and participation from students who find themselves torn between too many obligations," muses Juliet Kastorff, who has personally donated considerable time to the ERA program. "What folks forget is that after college is over, there are no more organized sports-and graduates can find themselves lost in a new city, with a new job, and no way to make friends. Introducing an individual sport like kayaking to students opens up the concept of a lifelong sport that will help breach the transition from structured youth to life in the adult world." With the support of Wave Sport-- who has shown their support by offering to help update outdoor program fleets, Endless Rivers has seen schools like Sweet Briar College, Davidson, Western Carolina University, Pfeiffer College, and Georgia State (to name a few) all benefiting from their program over the past seven years. What is new this year is the commitment that LVM has given. LVM - the ultimate kayak publication, has committed resources to the Outdoor Program Push with the promise of premieres at selective colleges and/or universities in conjunction with ERA. For starters, they have committed LVM #22 to this program. LVM #22 will premiere at Sweet Briar College, VA. A women's college located in Sweet Briar, VA, Sweet Briar has an enthusiastic kayak program that received a big kick start through ERA's Outdoor Program Push seven years ago. The #22 LVM premiere at Sweet Briar College will extend to neighbouring Washington & Lee University, the University of Virginia, James Madison University, Hollins College, Virginia Commonwealth University, Lynchburg College, and Radford. In addition, it will be advertised to the Coastal Canoeists and other local boaters and to the Wintergreen Adaptive Sports program. This will be the first of many commitments ERA and LVM will make to the Outdoor Program Push in the future.
